Today John Bel for Louisiana announced that Gov. Edwards raised $2.55 million in 2019’s first quarter fundraising period that ended on April 5th.
As he heads into the legislative session’s blackout period on fundraising, Gov. Edwards is in a strong position with $10.19 million cash on hand after raising $12.1 million total into his re-election campaign.
John Bel for Louisiana received contributions from 4,246 donors this fundraising period, and more than 3,000 were making their first contribution to the campaign.
Gov. Edwards’ fundraising is getting stronger as we get closer to the election. The $2.55 million raised in 95 days is more than two-thirds of what Gov. Edwards raised over the entire year of 2018, when he raised $3.8 million.
