Today, John Bel for Louisiana released its third in a series of digital ads, “Better Off: Commitment to Education.”
The ad, which will run across digital platforms in :30 and :15 second variations, highlights Gov. John Bel Edwards’ commitment to investing in quality education in Louisiana.
Gov. Edwards is leading the fight for Louisiana’s teachers and students. Gov. Edwards stands with the 88 percent of Louisianans that support an increase in teacher pay, and he is working across the aisle to ensure that Louisiana’s teachers see increased wages for the first time in a decade. Gov. Edwards has also proposed plans to invest in our classrooms.
“After years of neglect under the previous administration, it is time that Louisiana begin investing in public education. Gov. Edwards’ number one priority this year is giving the teachers of Louisiana a long-overdue raise. As Governor Edwards has said; the pay goes to the adults, but the investment is in our children,” said John Bel for Louisiana Campaign Manager Richard Carbo.

“It is time for Louisiana to invest in our students and teachers. With a teaching shortage for over a decade and stagnant K-12 funding, we are not living up to the promises we’ve made to our children. That is why I have proposed a plan to raise teacher pay, recruit and retain more qualified teachers and increase funding in our classrooms. As the husband of a teacher, I know first-hand that we must invest more in education at all levels, and I will work to make sure we do.”
